JACKSON — The Village Board on Tuesday gave the green light to Rich Malnory to open the Event Horizon tattoo shop.

During the public comments portion of the agenda on Malnory’s conditional use permit, no resident spoke either for or against the shop.

Event Horizon, W208W16787 S. Center St., is next to Sonya’s Rose Creative Florals & Gifts, facing the Jackson Police Department on Main Street (Highway 60). Along with Malnory, Brandi Stam will also be giving tattoos and the shop will be managed by Scott Roth. Piercings will also be provided. Event Horizon is on track for its goal of a June opening, while the physical shop continues with construction.

Malnory is an industry professional with two decades of experience, including working at Northern Lights in West Bend with Stam. He said he enjoys freehand tattooing to run with his creativity, although he is more than happy working with what the customer prefers. Freehand is an area he thinks is lacking within the industry and can be a sign of a talented artist. Malnory also works with local businesses to create graphic designs, which is rooted in the same creativity and skill required for tattoos.
