WAUKESHA — Kingbird Real Estate has selected MSI General to design and construct a four-story, 95-room Avid Hotel near Meadow Lane and Marshview Street in Waukesha. The project is scheduled to begin this summer.

Avid Hotel, a new entrant into the hospitality industry, focuses on serving the business traveler with comfortable and quiet hotel rooms. Avid Hotel offers guests a complimentary breakfast of healthy choices, according to the announcement.

The hotel will be southeastern Wisconsin’s first avid Hotel. Avid Hotel is a new Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) brand launched in 2017.

On June 12, the Waukesha Plan Commission approved final site plan and architectural review details for the Avid Hotel on Waukesha’s northwest side.

Commissioners also gave favorable recommendations for several technical items related to the 41,700-square-foot hotel, including a certified survey map and issues related to streets near the development, set to occupy land on Meadow Lane.

Based in Nashotah, MSI General is a design-build construction company.
