BROOKFIELD ó Those looking to enjoy Asian-inspired cuisine have one less local restaurant to choose from.

Stir Crazy Fresh Asian Grill at Brookfield Square, the restaurantís only location in the state, has permanently closed, a spokesperson for the restaurant confirmed.

According to Waukesha County Circuit Court records, an order to surrender the premises was signed on July 8 during an eviction hearing.

A small claims case opened on May 21 states that the restaurant entered into an agreement to pay the landlord (Brookfield Square Parcel, LLC) $250,000 in rent per year through 2023.

As of May 31 of this year, Stir Crazy was delinquent in paying its rent by $31,840 and had granted a promissory note.

A replacement note was signed on Nov. 7 in amount the amount of $19,340 rent owed, which the landlord allegedly never received.

In total, the complaint in the case says $110,448 is owed to Brookfield Square Parcel, LLC in rent, interest and late charges.

The Brookfield Square location of Stir Crazy was opened on Sept. 22, 2008.

The 6,500-square-foot building was the chainís 14th restaurant nationwide. It was the fifth location opened in less than a year by the restaurantís owner.

Stir Crazy offered a diverse menu of Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine.

Stir Crazy still has locations in Florida, Illinois and Missouri.

The shuttering of Stir Crazy adds to an already growing list of businesses that have left the Brookfield Square location.

Last year, Brookfield Square lost two of its three department store anchors within a six-month span. Sears sold its last Craftsman tool in March, while Boston Store closed its longtime doors at the tail end of summer.

Also inside the mall, Charlotte Russe, Gymboree and Payless Shoes have also closed.
