KEWASKUM — A recent fire caused the Kewaskum branch of Westbury Bank to be moved down the road to the parking lot of Piggly Wiggly, 940 Fond du Lac Ave., earning it the name “Piggly Bank.”

The location will remain in the parking lot for about a year, of which roughly two months of construction are successfully underway.

The food store’s parking lot is reflected in the Westbury Bank’s front door, which posts the branch’s lobby hours — 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

As of now, there is no definitive answer on how much of the building needs to be repaired, or if just the roof can be replaced, although visible work on the roof can be seen. Although the building is smaller, the capabilities are almost complete. Everything is wireless, so while tellers cannot complete money orders or cash advances, otherwise the bank operates as it did in its permanent location.

Tellers say people love the convenience and go from their bank to Piggly Wiggly and vice versa, so for now the location is serving both businesses well.
