MUKWONAGO — Mukwonago area residents with a sweet tooth now have a way to quell their cravings after E and S Sweets, a new candy store, opened in downtown Mukwonago.

The business, which is owned by Kris Brill and her daughter-in-law Lisa Brill, held a soft opening on Aug. 28, Kris Brill said.

“For not advertising that we’re open, it’s going really well,” Kris Brill said. “We’ve had a nice flow of people walking through.”

E and S Sweets bills itself as a nostalgic and retro candy store that offers sweet and savory products from Wisconsin-based businesses like Cedar Crest Ice Cream, Pop’s Kettle Corn, Wisco Pop! Beverage Co., chocolate made in Baraboo, Wis. and cotton candy produced by a Mukwonago native, she said.

The store’s retro candy section includes candy sticks, Kits, Bit-O-Honey, Fun Dip, Jawbreakers, Candy Cigarettes, Bottle Caps, Lemon Drops, Atomic Fireballs and more.

“We have a variety of old-time candies,” Kris Brill said. “We also have a line of CBD candies and suckers.”

Kris Brill said she and Lisa Brill always felt that a candy store is what the downtown needed.

“Something nostalgic as they are rebuilding and rejuvenating the downtown area,” Kris Brill said. Just as the Brill family had hoped, the look of the shop and products they offer generates a sense of nostalgia in those who visit E and S Sweets, Kris Brill said.

“They’re awe struck,” Kris Brill said. “If you hear the chatter around, it’s bringing back a lot of memories for people, there’s a lot of conversations going on and they’re excited.”

E and S Sweets is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. The candy store is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. For more information about E and S Sweets, visit or call 262-368-3270.
