HARTLAND — Sendik’s Food Market received preliminary approvals from the Plan Commission Monday night for an addition and partial remodel of its store located at 600 Hartbrook Drive in Hartland.

Plans submitted to the Plan Commission indicate that Sendik’s has requested to add a 27-foot addition to the backside of the grocery store. If approved, the proposed addition will allow for better storage, work flow, shipping and receiving as well as an interior remodel of the deli, bakery and meat departments, according to the plans.

The addition will also require relocating utilities for the building, reducing loading docks from two to one as well as additional storm drains, according to the plans.

Plan commissioners only approved a conceptual planned unit development for Sendik’s proposal, which means the plans will still need approval from the Village Board.
