GREEN BAY - Former guard Marco
Rivera informed the Packers he plans to retire as a member of the
team.
Packers general manager Ted
Thompson said Monday that Rivera was the consummate professional
who was a great model for his teammates.
Rivera spent nine seasons from 1996
to 2004 in Green Bay.
During his tenure with the team,
Rivera played in 99 consecutive regular season games and was
selected to three Pro Bowls.
Rivera finished his career after
two years in Dallas and was released in June 2007.
Rivera says it's an honor and a
privilege to retire with the Packers.
