APPLETON — Two people are
injured after a boiler explosion at Appleton Medical Center.
ThedaCare spokeswoman Mia
Beltran says one person was treated at the hospital and
another was flown to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.
Beltran says the explosion
happened before 3 p.m. Friday.
Appleton police Lt. Pat
Matuszewski says a plate blew off the boiler while two
employees were working on it. He says the employee airlifted
to Neenah suffered head and facial injuries. He didn't have
details about the other worker.
Matuszewski says the
explosion did little damage and the hospital's operations
are unaffected.
