WAUSAU - A 39-year-old man has
been charged with killing his wife and 12-year-old daughter
in a drunken-driving crash.
Court records say Travis
Ploman of Kronenwetter had been drinking with friends for at
least five hours Sunday before he got behind the wheel of
the family sports utility vehicle and headed home.
Ploman was charged Wednesday
with two counts of homicide by drunken driving, resisting
arrest and causing an injury while driving drunk.
His attorney, Rand Krueger,
says the charges are premature and unsubstantiated.
Court records say Ploman, a
Mosinee School Board member, went to a home in Portage
County with a cooler full of beer to share with his wife,
Jennifer. His SUV rolled over off Interstate 39 near
Mosinee, killing her and daughter Erin Ploman. A 9-year-old
son was treated and released at a hospital.
