Crews are preparing to roll
out the orange barrels on a $6.2 million project on WIS 33
between US 41 and County Z in Washington County starting in
mid-March announced the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation (WisDOT).
The public is invited to a
construction kick-off meeting on Wednesday, March 6, 2013
between 4 and 7 p.m. at the Addison Town Hall, 127 First
Street in Allenton, WI. The meeting will be an open house
format. The meeting site is wheelchair accessible. If you
are hearing impaired and require an interpreter, please
request one using the Telecommunications Relay System (dial
711).
A presentation will be given
at 6 p.m. detailing the construction schedule and stages.
Members from the WisDOT project team will be on hand to
answer additional questions.
The 4.6 mile project is
divided into two segments:
Resurfacing - Starting
at US 41 to 0.5 miles west of WIS 144 intersection. The
resurfacing segment will include milling the existing
pavement, asphaltic overlay, beam guard replacement,
intersection improvements, shoulder widening, pavement
marking and new signs.
Reconstruction -
Starting at 0.5 miles west of the WIS 144 intersection to
County Z. The reconstruction will expand the roadway to a
four-lane divided segment including curb and gutter, storm
sewer, beam guard, pavement marking and new signs.
The existing Park and Ride
lot located at the US 41 interchange will be closed and
reconstructed as part of the project.
The contractor, Musson
Brothers, is expected to complete work by October 2013,
weather permitting.
