I-41 ramps in Menomonee Falls closing long-term
Adjacent interchanges to remain open

August 8, 2017

Beginning 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will close two ramps at I-41/US 45 and Main St. in the village of Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County.

The southbound I-41/US 45 entrance ramp from Main Street and the northbound I-41/US 45 exit ramp to eastbound Main Street will be closing. These ramps are anticipated to be closed until early winter.

The adjacent interchanges are scheduled to remain open during these Main St. ramp closures. The official detour is making use of the interchange to the south (WIS 145) by way of Main Street (WIS 100/Brown Deer Road). The interchange to the north (Pilgrim Road Interchange) will remain an unsigned, alternate route.

The closures will allow the contractor room to build temporary widening of I-41/US 45 so three lanes of traffic in each direction can be maintained during future operations. The project centers around replacing a small bridge on both the entrance ramp to southbound I-41/US 45 and the I-41/US 45 mainline.

Associated work will involve replacement of storm sewer, concrete barrier and beam guard, along with new lighting, signing and pavement marking.
