Carl T. Schroeder

Carl T. Schroeder, 84, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 19, 1921, in Pewaukee, to Gustave and Margaret (nee Mickle) Schroeder. Carl proudly served his country in World War II with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

He married the former Kathryn T. Terry on Oct. 9, 1971. He worked for Link Builders for 23 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church for 31 years. Carl was a member of the Waukesha Lodge of Elks, #400, serving as inner guard in the 1970s. He also was a member of The Boat Club, which became The Waukesha Outboard Fleet, where he served as commander.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Kathryn of Waukesha, and stepson, Melvin (Barbara) Mueller of West Allis. He was a cherished grandfather to Mark Mueller, Danny Mueller Sr. of Milwaukee, Timothy (Kim) Mueller of Hartford, Matthew Mueller of Fond du Lac, Christina Mueller of Milwaukee, Jana (Adam Scalettar) Johnson of Tempe, Ariz., Stacie (Aaron Henry) Johnson of Lake Geneva, Christine (Peter) Marcks of Waukesha, Amanda (Timothy) Hofmann of Marion, Iowa, and Bryn Pugh of Waukesha. He was a great-grandfather to Traver, Dan Jr., Jordan, Laura, Anna, Rhiannon, Luke, Sadie, Evan and Zackary. He also was survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his first wife, Carmel (nee Williams); his brothers, Arthur, Bill, Ed and Delbert; and sisters, Mabel and Margaret.

Visitation for Carl will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7:30 p.m. Elks Lodge of Sorrow service today, Dec. 20, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues at 9 a.m. until the 9:30 a.m. funeral Mass on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha. Burial with full military honors will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
