Dr. Donald I. Hanson

Dr. Donald I. Hanson, 93, of Oconomowoc, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at AngelsGrace Hospice. He was born May 27, 1912, in Milwaukee, the son of Oscar and Jessie (nee Ivens) Hanson.
He married Claire Learned on May 5, 1962, in Oconomowoc; she preceded him in death.
Donald graduated from the Oconomowoc High School Class of 1930, Carroll College Class of 1932 and the Marquette School of Dentistry in 1935. He was a dentist in Oconomowoc from 1935 until 1993. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving as a dentist. He was a longtime member of the Oconomowoc American Legion Band, president of the Oconomowoc Kiwanis Club and was very active in the First Congregational United Church of Christ. He was also a charter member of the Oconomowoc Masonic Lodge F&AM 42, holding the position of grand master.
He is survived by his children, Thea Carlson of Oconomowoc and Jeremi (Peter) Grosser of Oconomowoc; four grandchildren, Brain Carlson, Robert (fiancee Gabrielle Tordsen) Carlson, Johanna Grosser and Parker Grosser; dear friend and companion, Genevieve Buffmire; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until a 7 p.m. Masonic service Friday, Nov. 4, at Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc. Visitation continues from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Nov. 5, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 815 S. Concord Road, Oconomowoc, with the Rev. Steven Welch officiating. Burial will be in LaBelle Cemetery.
Memorials can be directed to the Oconomowoc American Legion Band, the Oconomowoc High School Band-Aids or the church.
