Mildred I. ‘Millie’ Kastet (nee Ostrander)

Mildred I. "Millie" Kastet (nee Ostrander) of Pewaukee, formerly of Green Bay, White Bear Lake, Minn., and Moorhead, Minn., passed away peacefully Nov. 9, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer at age 73. She was born in Borup, Minn., to Anthony and M.E. Ostrander (nee Meredith).

Millie graduated from Moorhead High School in June 1949. She retired after 23 years at Vincent Metals (Integris) of Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Green Bay in 1994. She valued enduring friendships with many special people during those years. After her retirement, she bought a home which she took great pride in restoring. She took care of her son in his final illness. Millie was a hard worker who raised three children and doted on her four grandchildren. She loved keeping in touch with family and friends, flowers, gardening and especially her little dog, Zprke.

Millie was the cherished mother of Carla (Larry) Bodette and Sheryl (Bryan) Larson and special grandmother to Brian and Brett Bodette, Shawna (Plesnik) Sanchez and Brittany Larson. She is further survived by many loving relatives and friends.

She was preceeded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Marion (Weller), Rex, Hubert and Harley Ostrander; and by her beloved son, Doyle T. Kastet.

Private family services were held.
