Maribelle Hewitt Schickling

Maribelle Hewitt Schickling, 88, slipped peacefully away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, to join God our Father in a celebration of eternal life with loved ones who went before her.
She was born in Erie, Pa., on June 6, 1917, to the late John and Margaret Martin Hewitt. For many years she owned and operated Maribelle’s Beauty Shop on Westlake Road in Erie. She was known for her creative sewing, passion for bingo, love of reading and being a sports enthusiast. Her mind was never idle and her smile always brightened the day of all around her.
Maribelle belonged to St. Julia’s Catholic Church in Erie and attended St. William Catholic Church in Waukesha.
Survivors include daughter, Sylvan, and son-in-law, Tom Breitzmann, of Waukesha; daughter-in-law, Judy Schickling of Erie, Pa.; grandchildren, Janet Silk (Ian Polack) of Emirate, Saudi Arabia, Jason (Meredith) Schickling of Counnatville, Pa., Steven Morrison (Tracy) of Franklin, Richard Morrison of West Allis and Heidi Breitzmann of Carlsbad, Calif.; and great-grandchildren, Jana Borbash, Steven Morrison and Zachary Morrison. She is also survived by many extended family members whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Schickling; son, Jack Schickling; and siblings, Jack Hewitt, Robert Hewitt, Geraldine Roemer and Kathryan Cornstock.
A private graveside prayer service will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Fairview, Pa.
