Mary Jane Ward Doheny, 73, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Waukesha, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, Nov. 10, 2005, at Hospice Atlanta. Mary Jane was born on Motherís Day, 1932, in Wauwatosa, the only child of Eunice and Baker Holley. She was Wauwatosa High School prom queen, class of 1950, and attended the University of Wisconsin, graduating in 1954.
Mary Jane was an avid and able bridge and tennis player. She bravely fought her battle with cancer, keeping her dignity and positive attitude to the end. Mary Jane, a daughter, mother, grandmother, wife, aunt and friend, touched the lives of countless people. She will be dearly missed.
Her father, Thomas Baker Holley, predeceases her, along with husbands Horace D. Ward and Edward L. Doheny.
She is survived by her mother, Eunice Holley of Port Richey, Fla.; her son, Thomas Ward of Ft. Lauderdale; daughter, Suzanne; son-in-law, Richard Martin; grandsons, Rick and Charlie Martin of Atlanta; brother-in-law, Chick Ward; and sister-in-law, Fran (Robert) Baird of Genoa, Ill.
Visitation will be held from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Nov. 17, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. Jim Voelkert will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
