Jose "Blackie" B. Gonzales

Jose "Blackie" B. Gonzales, of Waukesha, died with his family and friends surrounding him on Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, at his home.

He was born in Seguin, Texas, on March 29, 1925, to Roque and Maria de Jesus (nee Biseno) Gonzales. On Oct. 27, 1955, he married the former Mary J. Barron at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He had worked for International Harvester and retired at age 55 after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Augustinian Society and was very active helping the Guadalupe Society in preparing for the annual Fiesta. Blackie enjoyed dancing, yard work, walking everywhere and spending special time with his grandchildren.

He will be missed by his wife, Mary J., of Waukesha, along with their children, Robert (Penny) Gonzales of Waukesha, John (Peggy) Gonzales of Wauwatosa, and Patricia Gonzales, Josie (Pedro) Camargo, and Joey Gonzales, all of Waukesha. He was the dear grandfather of Corey, Gina and Lucas Gonzales of Waukesha; Allison and Brittany Gonzales of Wauwatosa; and Christopher, Samantha and Mitchell Gamroth and Anthony and Alex DeLeon, and Isabella Camargo, all of Waukesha. He is further survived by his brother Timothy "Timo" Gonzales of Waukesha, other relatives and many close friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Dominga Herrera, brothers Abelardo, John, Simon, Lupe and Ruben, and sister-in-law Mary A (nee Jiminez) Gonzales.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Services continue at the funeral home Wednesday, Oct. 5, with prayers beginning at 10:15 a.m., followed by procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., for the 11 a.m. Funeral Mass. The Rev. Michael Michalski will officiate. Private burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.
