James Owen Young

James Owen Young, 73, of Waukesha, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital. He was born in Wauwatosa on Jan. 9, 1932, to Malcolm and Mollie (nee Mahnke) Young.

James proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954. On May 4, 1957, he married the former Gloria Rose Laufenberg in Waukesha. He grew up in Bay View before moving to Waukesha in 1958. James received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University School of Engineering. He worked for Allen Bradley, Cutler Hammer and Johnson Controls before retiring from Rockwell International in 2001. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. James was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

He will be missed by his beloved wife Gloria, of Waukesha, and will be eternally remembered by sons Peter J. Young of Stillwater, Minn., Thomas A. (Chris) Young of London, and Jason A. Young of San Diego. He was the loving grandfather of Shannon Elizabeth Young of Waukesha. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister Hazel and brother Malcolm Young, Jr.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 5 p.m. until the 8 p.m. funeral service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Private services will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery.
