Ernest J. LaMonte

Ernest J. LaMonte, 87, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005.

He was a 50-year employee of Allis Chalmers and the former owner of Hartís Custard Stand in Brookfield. He was past president of the World Trade Organization-Milwaukee Chapter and a member of the Elm Grove American Legion Post 449, Knights of Columbus Holy Ghost Council 4648 and St. Lukeís Parish. Ernest was also a former Brookfield alderman for more than six years and a Waukesha County supervisor for 12 years. He fought in the Pacific theater in World War II.

In addition, Mr. LaMonte was an avid card player and golfer.

He was the beloved husband of Mary (nee Kalcich); dear father of Richard (Carol) LaMonte and Barbara (Bruce) Osmon; loving grandfather of Michelle (Bobby) Pokorney, Dwight (Penny) Osmon, Rich LaMonte, Susie Osmon, Mike LaMonte and Becky Osmon; great-grandfather of Jack, Marie and Meghan Pokorney and Isaac Osmon; brother of Rose Schroeder; and brother-in-law of Rose LaMonte. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Thursday, Oct. 13, at St. Vincent Pallotti Church, 201 N. 76th St.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Caring Place-Waukesha are appreciated.
