Nancy Lee Lawrence

Nancy Lee Lawrence (nee Bush), 62, passed away at home Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, after waging a spirited battle against cancer for the past 22 years.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Ron, and their children, Scott (Cory) Lawrence of Waukesha and Kirsten (Rich) Lehman of Stewartville, Minn. She was a much-loved "nana" to her grandchildren, Amy Lawrence and Tristan and Paige Lehman. She was a wonderful sister to Dorothy Anne Krueger of Oconomowoc and Jack Bush of Portland, Ore. Nancy Lee was loved and respected by all of her family members and by her very dear and loving friends. Also, "Mrs. Lawrence" was a favorite teacher at the Land OLakes Elementary School for the past 11 years and was a loyal member of the Ely Memorial United Church of Christ in Land O Lakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy and Gordon Bush, and her brother, Cary.

In 2003 Nancy Lee was named the honorary chair for the Northwoods Relay for Life and stated, "Im honored ... going through cancer is not a pretty picture. If I can assist anybody, I will do it."

In her living and her dying she inspired all who knew and loved her with her courage, grace and optimism. She truly did "live well ... laugh often ... and love much."

The family is especially grateful to the nurses at Howard Young Hospital and Marshfield Clinic, and those at the Ministry Home Care Hospice Program.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at the Ely Memorial United Church of Christ, 4302 Highway B, Land O Lakes. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
