Richard ‘Dick’ Black

Richard "Dick" Black, 70, of De Pere, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Oct. 12, 2005, at a local hospital. The son of the late John and Ruth (Miller) Black was born July 4, 1935, in La Crosse.

Dick was a graduate of Carroll College, Waukesha. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had his pilot’s license. In March 1959, he married the former Bonnie Bohl in Waukesha. She preceded him in death Sept. 13, 1996.

Mr. Black was a consummate entrepreneur who started his career in the insurance business. His career spanned many fields, and Dick had owned and operated Catencamp Trucking in Shawano, B & B Casket Co., BCI Insurance Services and Cavu Aviation in Green Bay.

Dick especially enjoyed golfing with his friends in Wisconsin and Florida. He was a trusted and loving friend, dad and grandpa, and will be sadly missed by those who knew him and loved him.

Survivors include his best friend and life companion, Roberta "Bert" Reinke and her daughter, Ashlee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Joel Willett and their daughter, Sara of De Pere, Anne and Jeff Jende and their children, Rick and Hope of De Pere; one sister, Liza Kramer of Venice, Fla.; one brother, David Black of Waukesha; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth; his wife, Bonnie; and his stepfather, Swede Olsson.
