Adela H. Becker

Adela H. Becker of Merton went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 1, 2006. Following a short hospitalization, she spent her last day at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc.
Adela was born Dec. 10, 1916, in Colgate as the second-oldest daughter of Charles and Grace Kuphall. She grew up in Wauwatosa and was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church. She married Marvin Becker on May 21, 1938, in a double wedding with her sister, Violet. She and Marvin made their home in Merton, where they were members of St. Johnís United Church of Christ and where they raised their family of four children.
Adela will be sadly missed by her son, Wayne (Patricia) Becker; two daughters, Cheryl (Raymond) Wachsmuth and Dorinne (Michael) Geldon; and a son-in-law, Gene (Sharon) Grucelski, as well as by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her brothers, Paul and Charles Kuphall, her sister, Lily Krueger, her sisters-in-law, Harriet Kuphall, Angie Kuphall and Hilda McTrusty; and her brothers-in-law, Raymond Dorn and Herbert Krueger, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Adela was preceded in death by her husband Marvin; her daughter, Darlene Grucelski; her brother, Fred Kuphall; her sister, Violet Dorn; and her sister-in-law, Betty Kuphall.
Adela was a devoted wife and mother and a longtime member of the Merton Sewing Club and St. Johnís Womenís Guild. She loved people and was a true servant of the Lord.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at St. Johnís United Church of Christ in Merton. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Evert-Luko Funeral Home, 170 Warren Ave., Hartland, and Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Johnís Cemetery in Merton. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial gifts to St. Johnís United Church of Christ or to AngelsGrace Hospice.
