H. Asher Moore

May 23, 1921 - April 1, 2006

H. Asher Moore, 84, died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Heartland Manor Care in Pewaukee. Asher was born May 23, 1921, the son of Ralph Asher Moore and Stella Behrend Moore. He married Doris (nee Blankenhagen) on Oct. 23, 1943.

Asher was a well-respected member of the community. He had a love for the land and the farm, and he was proud to be a fourth-generation farmer. He was a member of the corporate board at Lutheran Homes of Oconomowoc, a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a member of the town of Oconomowoc Plan Commission for 22 years, serving from 1963 to 1985, and a member of the Forever Young Club at Ashippun.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Doris, and two daughters, Phyllis (Dr. Timothy) Meyer of Spokane, Wash., and Jane (Peter) Bollhagen of Laguna Hills, Calif. He loved his family and was proud of his seven grandchildren, twin grandsons Cpl. Alec (Ashley) Bollhagen of the U.S. Marine Corps and Andrew Bollhagen, Megan Meyer, Bradley Bollhagen, Nathan Meyer, Taylor Bollhagen and Joshua Bollhagen; and one great-granddaughter, Faith Bollhagen. He is also survived by one sister, Mary Ruth (Emeron) Robel; two sisters-in-law, Myrtle Stapleton and Bridget Moore; and one brother-in-law, Richard (Delores) Blankenhagen.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Allan.

Memorials, if desired, should be sent to The Parkinson's Foundation for Research, Heartland Hospice or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 Summit Ave., Oconomowoc. A second visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. service Friday, April 7, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 210 E. Pleasant St., Oconomowoc.
