Douglas C. Powers

Douglas C. Powers of Mukwonago passed away Monday, April 10, 2006, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. He was 68.
Doug was born in Mukwonago on Jan. 21, 1938, the son of Donald and Charlotte (nee Perkins) Powers. He was a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha.
In 1993, Doug retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Mukwonago where he was a postman for many years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #375 in Mukwonago. Doug founded the Gerald Rudolph Scholarship Fund and was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Mukwonago.
Survivors include his children, Patti (Cooper) Dyke of Cedarburg, Jeffrey (Traci) and Steven (Tracey), both of Mukwonago; his brothers, David (Jenny) of Waukesha, Donald of East Troy and Tom of Colorado; five grandchildren, Clay and Sarah Dyke and Carly, Hannah and Erin Powers; and other relatives and friends.
His parents and a brother, Phil, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. memorial Mass on Tuesday, April 18, at St. James Catholic Church, 830 Highway NN East, Mukwonago. The Rev. Robert Drutowski will officiate. Interment with military honors will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
