William H. ‘Bill’ Graham Sr.

March 11, 1923 - April 10, 2006

William H. "Bill" Graham Sr. of Waukesha died Monday, April 10, 2006, at Waukesha Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center at age 83. William was born in Waukesha on March 11, 1923, the son of William and Viola (nee Mickel) Graham.

Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1940 to 1945 and was aboard the USS Whitney and the USS Landsdown. He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivor Association and the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ. In the ‘50s Bill operated Graham Standard Service and then retired from Hein Werner.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Dorothy, whom he married Oct. 19, 1946; his children, William (Hilda) Graham of Waukesha and James (Diane) Graham of Waukesha; grandchildren, Tammy (Bill) DeMarco, Tina (James) Clark, James (Dona) Graham and William Graham III; great-grandchildren, Kirtus Graham and James Clark; stepgreat-grandchildren, Amber Graham, Desi Wagner and Brooke Wagner; his sister, Ellen Jackson of Sun City Center, Fla.; brother, James (Donna) Graham of McPherson, Kan.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. William was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service Friday, April 14, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Entombment will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at Prairie Home Cemetery, with military honors.
