The Rev. Victor A. Kemmer

The Rev. Victor A. Kemmer, 88, of St. Kilian, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Cedar Lake Home.
He was born July 28, 1917, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Peter and Elizabeth (nee Steger) Kemmer.
Father began his studies for the priesthood at St. Lawrence Seminary in Mount Calvary and then at St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee. He was ordained March 20, 1943, at St. Johnís Cathedral in Milwaukee. He later served at St. Frederick in Cudahy from 1943 to 1951, St. James in Kenosha from 1951 to 1959, St. George and St. Rose in Sheboygan County from 1959 to 1962, St. Nicholas in Dacada from 1962 to 1970, St. Mathew in Campbellsport from 1970 to 1986 and St. Kilianís in the town of Ashford (St. Kilian) from 1986 to the present.
He enjoyed hunting and spending time in his cabin in northern Wisconsin. An avid woodcarver, his many friends were often the recipients of his craftsmanship.
Survivors include his faithful housekeeper, Rosina Brunner, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Lillian Juedes, John, Mary Jaep, Anna Schilling, Joseph, Frances Holl, Raymond, Jacob, Edward, Clara and Helen.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 16, at St. Kilian Catholic Church, N189 Highway W, town of Ashford. Visitation continues from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Monday, April 17, at the church. Archbishop Timothy Dolan will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.
