Ralph L. Lenz
June 12, 1925- April 12, 2006
Ralph L. Lenz of Waukesha, formerly of Lannon, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at age 80.
Ralph graduated from Janesville High School in 1943 and went on to get his Bachelor of Science in education from Whitewater State College in 1947. He received his masterﾕs in education form Colorado State in Greeley, Colo. Academically, he taught and coached in the Princeton School System and Berlin School District where he later became assistant administrator. He became the assistant superintendent of the Sussex Hamilton School District in 1966, and in 1983 became the superintendent of the school district until his retirement in 1989. Ralph has served on Lutheran Church Councils in both Berlin and Menomonee Falls and was elected to the board of directors of the Norris Adolescent Center in Mukwonago in 1989 and had served as treasurer since 1997. Ralph was involved with many professional organizations. He served as president of the Wisconsin Association of Business Officials from 1968 to 1969 and was a life member of American Association of School Administrators, National Education Association and Wisconsin Education Association.
He is the beloved husband of Irene Trester-Lenz; loving father of Randall (Linda) of Cottage Grove and Steven Lenz of Minnetonka, Minn.; and dear stepfather of Ann Stover, Linda (Dr. Gerald) Grossmann, Greg (Martha) Trester of California, Patricia (Dennis) Carlton of Homewood, Ill., and Dale (Barbara) Trester of Wauwatosa. He is further survived by 14 grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Eloise.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Schmidt & Bartelt A.A. Schmidt & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, N84-W17937 Menomonee Ave., Menomonee Falls. Funeral services begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, W180-N7863 Town Hall Road, Menomonee Falls. Entombment will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Ralphﾕs memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, LindenGrove of Menomonee Falls Therapy Department or the Ralph Lenz Scholarship Fund at Sussex Hamilton High School.
