James Joseph Evans, 70, of Friendship, formerly of Waukesha, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at his home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Waukesha, the son of Gilbert and Lucille (Wyrza) Evans. James married Leslie Rex on Nov. 27, 1954, in Watertown.
An employee of International Harvester, he retired after 30 years of service. He was two-time past president of the Waukesha Fraternal Order of Eagles 453. James enjoyed spending time with his family as well as hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie Evans of Friendship; his sons, Jeffery Evans of Waukesha, Mark (Elizabeth) Evans of Pewaukee, Todd Evans of Pewaukee and Gary Evans of Beloit; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Jack (Cheryl) Evans of Tomahawk; and his brother-in-law, Bill (Eileen) Rex of Watertown.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, James J.; his daughter, Lori Kay; and his mother-in-law, Joyce Rex.
Private family services will be held at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship on Monday, April 17. A memorial luncheon will be at the Waukesha Eagles Club, 709 N. Grandview Blvd., on Tuesday, April 18 at 6 p.m.
