Robert E. Brown

Robert E. Brown, of Shawano, formerly of Waukesha, died Thursday, April 20, 2006. He was 80 years old.
Born Dec. 1, 1925, in West Allis, he was the son of the late Charles and Laura (Rindt) Brown.
While serving with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II, he was taken as a prisoner of war until his camp was liberated by the Allies. After the war, he married Marie Korri on Aug. 17, 1948, in West Allis. Robert retired after working for the Waukesha County Highway Department and then moved to the Shawano area.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flea market shopping and his dogs. He was a good grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. His memberships included the Sacred Heart Parish Community in Shawano and a P.O.W. member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are his wife; his children, Jody (Martin) Fredenberg of Shawano, Jeff (Shelley) Brown of Waukesha, Corey Brown of Sparta; his grandchildren, Weston Fredenberg, Miranda (Rob) Meyer, Robin Brown, Adam Brown, Aaron Brown; his great-grandchildren, Kamryn and Elaina; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Hearth Catholic Church in Shawano, with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Entombment will be at Sacred Heart Mausoleum with military rites by the Shawano Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2723. Friends may call the church Monday after 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
