Shirley K. Denning

June 30, 1929 - April 22, 2006

Shirley K. Denning (nee Kuhnert) went to her great reward Saturday, April 22, 2006, at age 76.

Shirley was a 1951 graduate of Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse in the obstetrics department at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for 47 years, retiring in 1998. Shirley was a 56-year member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Besides being totally devoted to her family and grandchildren, Shirley loved to travel with her sister, Kathleen, as well as volunteering for numerous organizations, including St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, the Waukesha Civic Theatre, the Marcus Center, Pabst Theatre and Job’s Daughters. She was a member of Golden Angels, The Red Hat Society, Eastern Star and the Jaycettes.

She was the cherished mother of Sue (Greg) Randall and Peggy (Luke) Pavlovich; proud grandma to Matt and Jared Randall and Jake and Nick Pavlovich; and loving sister of Kathleen Hollman and Debby (Tom) Zaremba. She will also be remembered by her nieces, Tarrie (John) and Cindy (John); nephews, Tom and David (Jennifer); other relatives; her special caregiver, Jen; many friends; and her card club gals.

A memorial gathering will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at Becker Ritter Michael Feerick Associate Funeral Home, 14075 W. North Ave., Brookfield. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 330 Carroll St., Waukesha, followed by a graveside service at Prairie Home Cemetery.

Memorials to Waukesha Memorial Health Care Foundation, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or your favorite arts organization will be appreciated.
