Dorothy M. Mohr

Dorothy M. Mohr, a resident of Mukwonago since 1929, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2006, at her residence. She was 93. Dorothy was born in the Lafayette Township in Walworth County on Nov. 3, 1912, the daughter of Henry and Emma (nee Kuhl) Bernau.
Along with her husband Wilbur, Dorothy owned and operated Mohrís Standard Service Station in Mukwonago for 52 years.
She was a former president of the Mukwonago Historical Society and a member of the national, state and Waukesha County historical societies. Dorothy was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Mukwonago, the Lake Beulah Garden Club and the First Congregational Church of Mukwonago.
Survivors include her daughters, Marilyn (Raymond) Craig of Deerfield, Ill., Barbara (Robert) Hall of Libertyville, Ill., Kathryn (Robert) Naukkari of New Berlin and Vivian (John) Norton of Bettendorf, Iowa; her sisters, Florence Arneklev of Plentywood, Mont., Gladys Stecker of Cedarburg, Grace Healey of East Troy and Beulah Leake of Riverside, Calif.; a brother, Delbert (Margie) Bernau of West Allis; a sister-in-law, Frances Bernau of West Allis; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur; three brothers, Charles, Rollin and Donald Bernau; and a sister, Evelyn Vorpagel.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 28, at Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St. (Highway ES), Mukwonago.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at First Congregational Church of Mukwonago, 231 Roberts Drive. The Rev. Rick Hartley will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
