Richard John Christoph

Dec. 23, 1933 - July 29, 2006

Richard John Christoph, 72, of Fort Myers, Fla., passed away Saturday, July 29, 2006.

Born Dec. 23, 1933, in Milwaukee, to Ester and Floyd Christoph, he lived for 43 years in Waukesha.

A graduate of Carroll College, he joined his father at Christoph Wholesale Co. after his military service. Married to Marilyn in 1959, he was a loving and devoted father to Linda, John and Kathy. He moved his family to Fort Myers in 1977 and proudly saw his three children graduate from the University of Florida. He loved the Gators!

Following their father's footsteps, Richard's children married very wisely: Linda (Alain Kassab), John (Joanna Carlson) and Kathy (Cord Corbitt). He was a proud grandfather to Benjamin, Hannah, Hannah, Connor, Kristen, Chase and Danielle.

He is survived by his sister, Judy Mattiacci, and her husband, Pete of Wausau, as well as his sister-in-law, Natalie Christoph of Bloomington, Ind. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Jim Christoph of Bloomington. He leaves many nieces and nephews, including two fine local gentlemen, Mark Mattiacci of Waukesha and Steve Mattiacci of Brookfield.

A special thanks to Hope Hospice of South Fort Myers, Fla. Through their loving care, he died with dignity and grace.

A celebratory service honoring his life will be held at 7 p.m. today, Aug. 1, at the Tradewinds Clubhouse in Reflection Lakes, South Fort Myers.
