Larry Roberts, 60, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital. He was born in Waukesha on Jan. 15, 1946, to E. Hugh and Mildred (nee Newbury) Roberts.
He retired from the U.S. Army after 32 years of service, where he was a member of the Army Pistol Team. He also worked at Coca-Cola and Powermation. Larry was certainly a firearms enthusiast, participating in many shooting competitions. Disney World was one of his favorite places to visit. He was a season pass holder and went there every month. Fixing up cars was also a favorite hobby.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred Roberts of Watertown; sons, Dave (Mandy) Roberts of Waukesha and Ryan Roberts of Brooklyn Center, Minn.; stepdaughter, Donna (Andrew) Tollefsen of Brookfield; and a granddaughter, Caeden Tollefsen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darnell (nee Mokwa), on June 23, 2005; his father in 1996; and his brother, David Roberts.
Visitation for Larry will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Friday, Aug. 18, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Salem Cemetery in Wales, followed by full military honors.
