Russell ‘Russ’ L. Lundstrom, Sr.

Russell L. "Russ" Lundstrom Sr., of Waukesha, died Friday, August 18, 2006 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was 65.

Born on Aug. 19, 1940 in Duluth, Minn., he was the son of Oscar and Marie (nee Juntila) Lundstrom.

Russ had three main loves: golfing, fishing and singing in the barbershop quartet. He was in the Heart of the North Barbershop Quartet in Barron County, a registered barbershop quartet called High Hopes and most recently Brookfield Highlands Ambassadors of Harmony. Russ also enjoyed playing guitar and singing at church.

Russ will be sadly missed by his wife of six years Alice; children Russell L. (Jill) Lundstrom, Jr. of Coon Rapids, Minn., Bradley (Janie) Lundstrom Sr. of Holmen, Rebecca (Roger) Trawick of Fontanta, Calif. and Bryan (Amanda) Lundstrom of La Crosse; step-sons Paul (Maria) Carr of Oconomowoc and Jeff Carr of Mountain View, Calif.; grandchildren Bradley Jr., Kathryn, Isabelle, Grace, Sam, and Karsten Lundstrom and baby Trawick on the way. Russ is also survived by his brother, Richard (Joan) Lundstrom of Park Rapids, Minn., sister, Darlene Vinopal of Duluth, Minn., former wife Carol (Jim) Baxter and many other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Helen Simi and Shirley Debelak.

A memorial service for Russ will be held 6 p.m. today at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 200 Richard St., Waukesha with the Rev. Tom Launius officiating.

Russ was given the gift of education and took pride in it. The family is in the process of establishing a college fund to give someone else a chance to learn.
