Marian Eleanor (nee Babbs) Fulton

July 17, 1909 - Aug. 26, 2006

Marian Eleanor (nee Babbs) Fulton of Waukesha, formerly of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006. She was born July 17, 1909, in Newark, Ohio.

She was the devoted wife of the late Harold D. Fulton. She was further preceded in death by her parents, Carl R. and Maude Conaway Babbs, as well as her siblings, Margaret and Charles Babbs. She was dearly loved by her daughter, Barbara Fulton Foye (Dennis); granddaughters, Carol and Anne Foye; nephew, Charles F. Babbs Jr. (Pat); grandnephew, Eric; and grandnieces, Karen and Janice. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Marian was a highly educated, refined and accomplished woman. She held bachelor of art degrees from both Denison University and University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She worked as a reference librarian at the Denison and Ohio State universities as well as the Canton Public Library. She began a long and happy marriage to Harold D. Fulton on June 29, 1940. She was an active member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Canton and the Philanthropic and Educational Organization for Women. Among many other activities, she and her husband enjoyed playing bridge and traveling the world to faraway places, including Australia, Europe, New Zealand, Thailand, Japan and China. After moving to Wisconsin in 1992, Marian began a new life filled with family, friends, bridge, the PEO, books, the First United Methodist Church of Waukesha and travel.

Visitation wil be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, followed by a short service. She will be interred Friday, Sept. 1, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newark.

Memorials to the Womenís Center of Waukesha, 505 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186, or the First United Methodist Church of Waukesha, 121 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186, would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
