Nancy F. Havel

Nancy F. Havel, 94, of Lake Geneva, formerly of Waukesha, passed away Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Geneva Lake Manor. She was born May 9, 1912, in Chicago, to August and Augusta (nee Schwab) Knockemus. She spent her early life in Chicago and was a graduate of Roosevelt High School.

On July 19, 1936, at Federated Church in Wauconda, Ill., she was united in marriage to Edward George Havel. He preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1972. Following marriage, Nancy and Edward lived in Chicago before moving to Wauconda. Nancy was a resident of Waukesha until recently.

Nancy was a secretary for John H. Mitchell Co. She was a member of St. Mathias Episcopal Church in Waukesha and loved traveling, shopping and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Terry Havel of Burlington; niece, Judy (Don) Janus; and nephew, Richard Knockemus. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brothers, Roy and August Knockemus.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Oakhill Village Senior Apartments, 1800 Kensington Drive, Waukesha.
