Donald T. Dawson

Donald T. Dawson, 78, of Franklin, found peace with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006.
Born on June 10, 1928, he was the son of the late Donald J. and Helen E. Dawson.
Don grew up in Janesville, where he was a standout high school pitcher for the American Legion team. After high school, he continued pitching for minor league teams, reaching the Triple-A level. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and afterward settled in Waukesha and raised his children. He retired from Allen-Bradley after 42 years of employment. Don enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers and White Sox, and he also enjoyed big band music.
Don was the precious husband of Betty, and he will be missed by his children, Michael, Philip (Kelly), Lisa and Jill (Patrick) Korsmo. He also was the grandfather to Christopher, Tasha, Tiffany, Rebecca and Nicholas Dawson, and Anthony and Erin Korsmo; fond brother of Betty (the late Charles) Meyer of Janesville; uncle of Charles (Carla) Meyer; great-uncle of Charlie and Hayley Meyer; fond brother-in-law of Elaine Fodor; former husband of Carol (George) Flory; as well as other relatives and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, Donald and Helen Dawson.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Advantage Funeral Home, 11030 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners, and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Interment is at 3 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Janesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
