Gordon W. ‘Gordy’ ‘Smokey’ Huelse

Gordon W. ‘Gordy’ ‘Smokey’ Huelse, 81, of New Berlin, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Gordy was born on Aug. 21, 1925, in Milwaukee.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a past commander of VFW Post 721. He was also a Mason of Waukesha, and a member of First Baptist Church. Gordy enjoyed camping and spending time at his trailer up north. He also cherished the comradeship he received while attending Army reunions held across the United States.

Gordy will be sadly missed by his wife of 16 years, Fern of New Berlin; five sons, Duane (Paulette) of Waukesha, Dennis of Ixonia, Donald (Lynn) of Oconomowoc, Danny of Milwaukee and David (Tina) of Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren; two nephews; one niece of Watertown; mother-in-law, Thelma Wetterling; and also is survived by his relative, Eunice Huelse of Watertown.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, from 3 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 247 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha. A VFW memorial service will take place at 3:45 p.m., followed by a Masonic memorial service and then the funeral service officiated by the Rev. Jim Carlson.
