Floyd F. Schraufnagel, 72, found peace entering God’s loving arms Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006. He was born July 19, 1934.
Floyd was a construction superintendent for James Luterbach Construction Co. for more than 25 years. His memberships included the Bricklayers Union Local No. 8 and the Catholic Knights.
He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Norene (nee Klix) and loving dad of Deborah (Al) Rogers, Michael (Kathy), Susan (William) Mertz and Linda (Douglas) Samuel. Floyd also was the proud grandfather of 10 grandsons, three granddaughters, one granddaughter-in-law, one grandson-in-law, three stepgrandsons, one great-grandson and three stepgreat-grandsons; dear brother of Elmer (Alice); and brother-in-law of Sally (Ralph) Lilly and Dawn (Frank) Bednarek.
The family thanks all of the relatives, many friends and medical staff at St. Luke’s for their support from the time of his heart transplant in 1999, and a special thanks to the donor family for the extra seven years of Floyd’s life.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at Krause Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 12401 W. National Ave., and also from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 127th Street and Howard Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10 a.m. Monday with entombment to follow at St. Joseph’s in Waukesha.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
