Mildred A. Howitt

Mildred A. Howitt of Waukesha went home to the Lord on Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, at age 85. She was born in Boise, Idaho, on Aug. 12, 1921.

During World War II, she volunteered with the United Service Organization and met and married her husband Roger in Boise. Following the war, the couple moved to Waukesha. Roger preceded her in death March 9, 1970.

Mildred retired from Amron Corp. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.

Survivors include her children, Linda D. Howitt, Brad (Diane) Howitt, John (Linda) Howitt and Virginia (Gary) Bennett; her grandchildren, John G. Howitt, Ryan Howitt, Lucas Bennett, Emily Bennett and Linda Still; and her great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob Still, Molly Bennett and Mason Bennett. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service today, Dec. 27, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Prairie Home Cemetery; please meet at the cemetery office.

A memorial fund will be established in Mildred’s name.
