Edward E. Jabs

Edward E. Jabs of the town of Brookfield died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, at LindenGrove Health Care Center in New Berlin at age 86. Ed was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Milwaukee, the son of Louis and Renata (nee Erdmann) Jabs.

He proudly served as a lieutenant junior grade in the U.S. Navy and piloted the PBY and PBM aircrafts during World War II. Ed was a service manager for Lou Ehlers, Rank & Son and Frascona Buick dealerships. He was a member of the Buick Club of America and the Wisconsin Antique Automotive Club. He enjoyed restoring classic cars.

Edward will be sadly missed by his sons, Lee (Jane) Jabs of Evansville and Ross Jabs of Waukesha; his grandchildren, Michelle (Andy) Rutherford, Pamela Jabs, Jill (Mark) Schutz, Rebecca Jabs and Julie Jabs; great-grandchildren, Tristen Albers and Megan and Benjamin Rutherford; sister, Emma Jabs of West Allis; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Rosamond; and his brother, Henry Jabs.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday Dec. 28, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Visitation continues from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Friday, Dec. 29, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha, with the Rev. Gary J. Liedtke officiating. Full military honors will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha, immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Building Fund are appreciated.
