TOWN OF SUMMIT
Gladys Pike, 78, lifelong resident of the town of Summit, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006.
Gladys was a lifelong member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Dousman, singing in the choir, participating in adult fellowship, serving on every board and faithfully teaching Sunday school. She loved to spend time helping people. She volunteered at Lake Country Caring, delivered Dousman area home meals and visited shut-ins.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis W. Pike, in December 1997. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Pike (the Rev. Ralph Schultz), Sharon (Ralph) Phillips, Dennis (Christine) Pike, Mary Lou (Gary) Behring, Beverly (Jeff) Harris, Keith (Renee’) Pike, Doug (Jamie) Pike and Robin (Jay) Schwellenbach. Gladys is further survived by her grandchildren, Erin, Matthew, Brittany, Katie, Brian, Cassandra, Ashley, Samantha, Rachel, Renee, Robyn, Sarah, Jeff, Chad, Rebecca, Sierra, Andrew, Carissa, Kyle, Tim, Stacy, Daniel, Christina, Stephan, Joshua, Amanda, Jordan, Taylor, Mason, Spencer, Ellen, David and Paul; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie (Ed) Neidinger; brother, Clyde (Elaine) Graves; sisters-in-law, Gloria Graves and Marion Pike; brothers-in-law, Robert Pike and Warren (Margaret) Pike; and numerous other faithful friends and relatives. She is also survived by her loving cat, Emily, a companion for 20 years.
A celebration of life and visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 6 p.m. memorial service Friday, Feb. 10, at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 36821 Sunset Drive (Highway 18), Dousman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Emmanuel United Church of Christ or a charity of your choice.
