Eva M. Vehlow

March 16, 1911 - Feb. 4, 2006

Eva M. Vehlow, 94, lifelong Waukesha resident, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006 at LindenGrove Health Care Center.

Born March 16, 1911, she was the beloved daughter of Henry and Martha (nee Williams) Winchell.

In 1929, she graduated from Waukesha High School and June 4, 1938 she married Arthur Vehlow at the First Presbyterian Church. She worked for many years as a secretary at Winchell Insurance Agency, which is now R & R Insurance. Eva was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was active in the Grace Missionary Society and the Grace Owls. She loved to play cards and was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan. She was very proud of her Welsh heritage and was past historian of the Welsh Club of the Milwaukee area.

She will be sadly missed by her children Joan Vehlow of Waukesha and Chuck (Kate) Vehlow of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her grandchildren Peter (Erin) Vehlow of Temecula, Calif. and Martha Vehlow & Andre Dudley of Tempe, Ariz.; her great-granddaughters Alex, Mackenzie and Camryn Vehlow, and Madison Dudley; her sisters Florence Williams of Oconomowoc, Esther Bruce of Nashotah and Betty Letts of Waukesha; her brothers Burt Winchell of Pewaukee and Ken Winchell of Mercer. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, her brother Willard Winchell and her sister Jeanette Buth.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006 from 1 p.m. until the funeral service at 4 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. Arthur Koepsell will officiate. Private interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.
