Robert James Ellison

May 28, 1932 - Feb. 14, 2006

Mr. Robert J. Ellison, 73, found peace as he passed away at the Veterans Affairs Hospital on Tuesday evening, Feb. 14, 2006. Robert J. Ellison, more affectionately known as Bob, was born in Racine to the late Helmer J. and Irene Ellison on May 28, 1932. He was joined in marriage to Violet Rorek on Aug. 14, 1954.

Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Darol Ellison of Racine, and son, James Ellison. Survivors include his loving wife, Violet; two sons, Scott and Mark; and daughter-in-law, Trish; grandchildren, Kandi, Shaunta, Scott Jr., Reshena, Jeremy, Morgan, Ryan and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Lexis, Brandon and Payton. Many nieces and nephews; his sister-in-law, Lois; and cousin, Susan, also survive.

Bob was an active member of St. Lukeís Lutheran Church, where he played in the hand bell choir. Bob had a plethora of hobbies. Some of his favorites were flying, golfing, fishing, biking, woodworking, skiing and playing musical instruments, all of course with family and friends. Bob sold trucks for most of his life and retired from Peterbilt of Wisconsin after many good years of service. Bobís great smile and exuberance for life were shared unselfishly with all. If you knew Bob, you were a beneficiary of his zest, often times without realization. Bobís knack for touching family and friends will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Feb. 19, at St. Lukeís Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha. Interment services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at West Lawn Memorial Park in Racine.

Memorials to St. Lukeís Lutheran Church are appreciated.
