Robert "Bob" G. Hood

Robert "Bob" G. Hood of North Prairie died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, at age 75. Bob was born Jan. 31, 1931, in Waukesha, the son of Walter and Margery (nee Griffith) Hood.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Playman. He served as first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Korea. He earned his bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he rowed on the Varsity Crew Team, which won the National Championship in 1951. Also during college he belonged to the "W" Club and Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He was also a member and past president of the Lincoln Fellowship. Bob was a lifelong dairy farmer in North Prairie and was an active member of the North Prairie United Methodist Church. He enjoyed being a member of the Milwaukee Art Museum and the International Crane Foundation. Bob loved gardening, traveling, genealogy, square dancing and cooking.
Bob will be sadly missed by his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Ann and Julie; a son, John (Jeannette) Hood; grandchildren, Jill and Scott Baxter and Lara Lirely; nephews; and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Feb. 18, at North Prairie United Methodist Church, 107 N. Main St., North Prairie, with the Rev. Bonnie Bell officiating.
