Cristobal Llanas of Waukesha died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 84. He was born Jan. 27, 1922, in Lockhart, Texas, the son of Amador and Rosa Llanas.
Cristobal was married to Frances Lopez, who preceded him in death. He served in the Armed Forces in World War II, where he became fluent in French as well as Spanish and English. He worked at General Castings and then retired from Quality Aluminum. He loved his grandchildren, gardening and landscaping. He cared about the working man.
Cristobal will be sadly missed by his children, Robert (Rhonda) of Waukesha and Christine (John) Boettcher of Waukesha; grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Boettcher of Delafield, Maria (Reid) Rosploch of Waukesha, Elissa Llanas of Pewaukee, Jason (Rebecca) Llanas of Waukesha, Melinda Llanas of Milwaukee and Bethany Llanas of Lombard, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Jaedon Llanas and Devin Llanas; sisters, Socorro Torres of Waukesha, Mary (Alfredo) Marquez of Waukesha, Juana "Janie" (Frank) Marchan of Waukesha, Fidela Ybarra of El Paso, Texas, and Susie (Santos) Gomez of Milwaukee; and brothers, Juan Llanas of Milwaukee, Angelo Llanas of Waukesha, Pedro (Olivia) Llanas of Waukesha, Pablo Llanas of Muskego, Inez (Carmen) Llanas of Waukesha, Walter (Angie) Llanas of Waukesha, Isidro Llanas of Waukesha and Carlos "Charlie" Llanas of Waukesha. Christobal is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 6:30 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.
