Robert F. Krueger

Sept. 27, 1927 - Dec. 19, 2005

Robert F. Krueger, born in Medford on Sept. 27, 1927, to the late Arthur and Olga (nee Kissman) Krueger, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, surrounded by his entire family at the Appleton Medical Center.

Bob worked many jobs until earning a commercial art degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology at midlife. He worked for W.A. Krueger in Brookfield as a graphic artist and also for the Vilar Art Studio. He moved from rural Eagle to Waukesha in 1975 and to Iola in early 2003.

Bob was a tinker and fix-it man of the first order, had a wonderfully mellow singing voice and could whistle with the best of them. He was especially fond of the outdoors, history, reading and debating and making a study of the Bible. He was very involved with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a modest man of many talents who left a remarkable legacy of faith with his family. To simply say that he will be sadly missed by his family would be a misstatement of epic proportions.

He is survived by three sisters in Medford and Crandon; two daughters, Melanie Krueger of Iola and Kathryn (Steve Kijewski) of Milwaukee; and one son, Kurt (Kathy) Krueger of Iola; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Hitterdahl Lutheran Church, N8808 County J, Iola. The Rev. Dan Somers will officiate. Burial will be in the Hitterdahl Lutheran Cemetery.

Voie Funeral Home of Iola, (715) 445-2560, is serving the family.
