Robert R. Prager

Feb. 27, 1927 - Jan. 12, 2006

Robert Prager, 78, of Waukesha, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006. Robert was born Feb. 27, 1927, in the town of Pewaukee, to John W. and Louise L. (nee Kopshinsky) Prager and later married Jeannine Roder in 1950.

He was employed by Foxís Guernsey Dairy prior to serving in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1950 to 1952. Upon his return, he operated the family farm for a time before being employed in the construction trade. He worked as a mason and bricklayer for more than 30 years, many of them with his brother, Edgar Prager, and other family members. Being raised on a farm no doubt contributed to his lifelong resourcefulness, diligence and the practical abilities admired by his family. He was active in farming and gardening during his retirement and enjoyed working outdoors. He was a longtime member of the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukesha.

Robert is survived by his wife, Jeannine of Waukesha; four children, Mary Ann (James) Burrie of Waukesha, Robert J. (Marie) Prager of Delafield, Susan (Terry) Scholl of Waukesha and Margaret Prager of Lyndon Station; grandchildren, Kristen (Brian) Brue, Robert E. (Becky) Prager, Peter (Melissa) Burrie, Sarah (Beethoven) Carabacan and Scot, Dan, Tim and Paul Burrie; great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Brianna and Grace Brue, Malachi and Matthias Burrie and Paige and Hailey Prager; one sister, Ruth (Francis) Rogers of Waukesha; and two brothers, Edgar Prager and Clarence (Rhoda) Prager, both of Waukesha. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janet Maier.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Jan. 15, at Cesarz, Charapata and Zinnecker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, with the Rev. James Gorman officiating.
