Dorothy Mae Gregware

Dorothy Mae Gregware, 77, of Sun City, Ariz., died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, in Sun City. She was born March 16, 1928, in Cook County, Illinois, to Joseph and Dorthea (nee Owens) Shaw. On Oct. 2, 1948, she was united in marriage to William Gregware.

Dorothy owned and operated her own drapery business, Pegís Window Fashions. She was an avid painter and seamstress. She quilted blankets, reupholstered furniture and enjoyed dancing, gardening, reading, cooking, letter writing and baking.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, William of Sun City; her children, Michael (Barbara) Gregware, Thomas (Sandra) Gregware, both of Waukesha, Susan (Gerald) Noben of New Berlin, James (Betty) Gregware of Manakin Sabot, Va., Vicki (William) Gregware-Hess of Milwaukee, Mary (Jeffrey) Ewing of Genesee Depot and Patrick (Johnny Garcia) Gregware of Scottsdale, Ga.; grandchildren, Melissa Cornejo, Emma and Kayla Ewing, Benjamin, Jenna, Joshua, Justin, Michelle and Nicholas Gregware and Theresa Medina; great-grandchildren, Meadow Hanson, Autumn and Kyle Sperk, Madisyn and Payton Weisrock; and two brothers, Richard (Louise) Nielson of Black River Falls and Willard Nielson of Waukesha. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Nielson.

Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, with a closing service at 7 p.m. at Cesarz, Charapata and Zinnecker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. There will also be visitation from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at St. Paulís Catholic Church, Highway 83 in Genesee Depot, with the Rev. Bob Gosma officiating. Inurnment of Dorothyís cremains will take place at St. Paulís Catholic Cemetery in Genesee Depot.
