Lucille Evans, 89, of Tomahawk, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at Riverview Rehab & Care in Tomahawk.
Lucille was born Jan. 31, 1916, in Milwaukee, to Joseph and Agnes Wrycza. She married Gilbert Evans in 1935 in Waukesha; he passed away in 1982. Lucille was raised in the Milwaukee area and was a Waukesha High School graduate. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse with Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She moved to the Tomahawk area in 1962 and owned and operated Gilís Motel until her retirement in 1977. She enjoyed volunteer work with the senior center and was a member of the Knight Owls Snowmobile Club. She was a member of St. Maryís Catholic Church in Tomahawk.
She is survived by two sons, James (Leslie) Evans of Friendship and Jack (Cheryl) Evans of Tomahawk; one sister, Audrey Olshefski of Waukesha; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert; and one sister, Alice.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Tuesday, Jan. 24, at St. Maryís Catholic Church in Tomahawk. The Rev. John Anderson will officiate. Burial will take place in the spring at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk.
